Is certainty ever certain?
“ Why build emotions when you’re not sure what’s going to happen in the future?” It’s a question that made me pause. Then I wondered… Why do we sleep every night? None of us goes to bed with a guarantee that we’ll wake up tomorrow. Yet we still set alarms, make plans for the next day, say 'see you tomorrow’ and close our eyes peacefully. Not because tomorrow is promised. Because hope quietly tells us there will be one. That’s how life has always worked. A farmer plants seeds without seeing the harvest. A student studies without knowing the result. Parents raise children without knowing what the future holds. We love people without knowing how every chapter of the story will end. If certainty became the condition for living, we would stop living altogether. Vincent van Gogh once wrote, “For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.” There is something profoundly human in those words.
